La principale raison d'être de ces tirages photographiques de collages est leur côté imprévisible : La matière première en provient de livres trouvés au hasard, que j'effeuille et découpe pour y prélever des fragments, des bribes d'images, autant de fétus d'un monde de papier voué, avec l'avènement du numérique, à une rapide destruction.
L'image ainsi obtenue donne une signification nouvelle à ces collages photographiés selon des procédés anciens, dont le visuel inattendu n'est pas sans rappeler certaines créations surréalistes, ou encore la rêverie symboliste d'un recycleur à la fois atemporel et d'un passé-futur totalement revendiqué.

The only constant in these collage photo prints is their unpredictability. The raw material comes from random books that I find. After unbinding a book I cut it into fragments, and let their images scatter into different avenues. In a doomed paper-world, they wander like lost children: they are exploring an old quartier that is marked for demolition by the advent of digital technology.
I photograph these collages with ancient processes, seeking to bring new meaning to the images I have created. The door is left open for a new and unexpected visual to enter, in the spirit of surrealist art, or like the dreams of a symbolist poet who recycles memory both outside of time and within the future-past of his remembrance.
